Stronghold

Type: Allied assault mission
Players: 1 - 2
Difficulty: Medium

In this mission your goal will be to eliminate all axis resistance in a small town. The missions starts slowly where you only have some paratroopers to archive the first goal, then continues to full scale assault with a lot of side missions you can complete to help you win (without those you will have a hard time). This will be a infantry focused battle, although you will get some tanks as reward later in the mission.

Just played it, for 1,5 hrs even and still not finished it. Endlessly going.

To be honest i think the end of the map/the axis town is a bit too strong set up (is that why it's called Stronghold? :lol:). There is even an indestructable Tiger right there, driving around. I mean, ehh?? Also, the "instant death when you walk into their border" thingy is a bit lame imo. The officers don't die even when 4 mortars are shooting the house at the same time.

Well just my opinion, but I like the other maps better. Good thing you update the mod regularly though :). I really like you put back in the sandbags and barbed wire :D. Keep up the good work!

Just finished the map, it was truly a stronghold. But the number of snipers was too much! I couldn't do anything rather than bombing run three officers. Even when the tiger was destroyed, my men still weren't able to step in due to the medic/repair bunker inside. (plus the hummel+nebel bombarding).

Really, it's awesome, but too hard, imo.

thanks guys, I am gonna make it easier, especially in skirmish.

fixes I made so far:

- Artillery Officer shoots much less accurate, so should be easier to get a squad through to him
- Artillery in the city has less range and fire less accurate
- respawn times from units in the city increased, less veterancy, removed all the extra health and range from the units (including the tiger)
- removed one of the repair bunkers
- if fuelbase is destroyed, axis wont spawn new units to capture outer houses
- you get better tanks as support, once the fuelbase is gone (sherman, m10 etc. instead of light tanks)

anything else you wish before we upload ?

If you ask the thing that I really want, I'd say to have british in :P.

The reinforce trucks give too much squads, they even give mortars and MGs even I haven't unlocked them yet.
And sometimes, in the mini map, I saw yellow circle used for main objective while green circle used for secondary objective.
The ammo and weapons from french resistance are hard to be found, you should give a hint.

that will be difficult, since it would require quite a different approach. e.g. how to bring in the units at mission start ?

The reinforce trucks give too much squads, they even give mortars and MGs even I haven't unlocked them yet.


thats meant to be like this. too much units?, I could remove the rangers and rifles, so it just brings the support units ?

there are no secondary objectives (also I used the button), I used different "blips" so its not all full with green circles :).

really ? they are right next to the initial spawn.

the weapons are kind of invisible... also, arty is raping my troops with direct hits... I have to attack in order to stop that, however, everytime I attack, the arty kills most of my men.....!!!!!!! I know it's supposed to be hard, but dammit, NO arty in the world can hit so directly... I'd say that something such as Fire storm a little sideways from your units depending on their speed of advance etc. anda little bigger that original relic firestorm... would still hurt you, but wouldn't be so bad as those unreal direct hits killing whole 6 men squad

yep, guess I`ve done it a bit over the top :). In the new version it doesn`t fire that accurate anymore, so it should be easier to get a squad through (modifier shot randomly +/- 5 meters around the squad now I changed it to +/-15).

edit: just checked a round with a friend, difficulty should be good now, we played for an hour, which is enough playing time I guess. You can check it and tell me if its good now.
