Airfield

Type: Allied assault map
Players: 1 - 3
Difficulty: Very hard

Image

In this mission your objective is to capture German aviation engineers from a high security airfield.

Tips: Use evasive action a lot to avoid search patrols, try to complete one of the 3 side objectives as fast as possible and don't advance across the airfield unless you know what you are doing :)

looks good, but I'm just not sure about if real life SF would land right at enemy base, which they can't really overrun and have to stay there for long amount of time (I know this from watching the minimap when the Airborne and Sniper come out of cover), however, the combination of US Airborne and British Commandos made it look well, also realistic. maybe there should be a field nearby and they'll get spotted by patrol instead and all this drives there?

Yeah they wouldn't :)

Originally I had big intro where massive glider attack was performed around the area but it made the start too long so i cut it a lot. Might be that this map is USA only map for paradrop stuff only... don't know yet.

Well, if you could introduce Commandos from Brit, it would be great. (Plus more coop gameplay).
One thing I want to ask is about what would happen when I'm spotted? Are my troops going to surrender and wait for rescuing or to keep fighting with the patrols?

Yes, the Drache is awesome, but not in every 2nd mission available ;) ;) ;)

hmmmm :? how would you determine where that "Drache" is looking with its search light, you should add a small circle on the ground to dertermine where the search light is looking that way it gives you more time to either manuvure or find cover

Just finished the map. Nightmare, it's truely a nightmare! Still can't believe that I got the map.

My first time play was quickly toasted by just a single persistent Tiger. Seem like they got the same bug as the Croc. Sherman in PoW

So after destroy the tiger in the second try, the enemy keep spawning infantry and spamming tank like there's no tomorrow. I have to station my troop at reinforce point and they still got annihilated. What I unexpected is the planes which took off. They turn to the other route which my troops haven't prepared yet. The moment I got pissed off was when both of full elite squads(baker/able) got annihilated by a lv3 Ostwind when retreating ( :o ).

Maybe you should reduce the number of patrol spawns, or add larger gap time between. With 5 buildings and above 10 squads pop out non-stop wasn't funny at all. And if you can, perhaps after capture some stg. point, the heavy tanks spawn less or take longer.

That's all I can spare. Btw, I still can't get off the map, want to play it once more :D .

Hmm what bug? if you mean it will chase you after being attacked its meant to be like that for almost all units in attack style maps so you cant just shoot them and leave them continue patrol like nothing ever happened :) There aren't that many attacking squads in skirmish and number of tanks is very limited unless you play for a very long time. If group all your troops to same place and not advance in multiple directions it will be a lot harder since enemy will also focus all troops to one place. Remember that with evasive action in theory you could finish the whole mission alone just with able or baker squad.

The massive group spawning happens when enemy has lost all other fhq buildings and they will spawn in the last ones... well this needs fixing :)

No, it chases even my squad get cloaked. And the result is both two squads were been ride over. AI really cheated.

Play again and got an error :P.
