I Finally beat this map, solo. Was allot of fun, and I will definately be playing it more.
How I was able to survive... I placed bunkers near the church, primarly to defend the far MP, and kept engis in/or near them to repair. Then I used my jeep to help defend the other. Then I used a couple of MG's with flamer and inf support in buildings along the main drag (using enfilade), to slow the advance, with one bunker to draw fire, as I can repair that.
Then I just made infantry and pick up as many dropped weapons , and reinforce them as much as possible.
I found mortors to be key. So, I would try and get as many mortors as possible (In the case of my win, it was 2) and retreat them to the Alamo to cover the bridge and the one MP (because the other eventually falls).
At this point, my main drag had fallen and I have lost the far MP. So, I just defended the Bridge, using a healing station to regen my troops, while I built more infantry. I used smoke, on the bridge, a few times to cover my troops who wanted to grab a loose MG or AT weapons. Not sure that Neb helped much, but added arty never hurts, right? The Tiger and Jadg didn' give me many problems, since they are mainly AT, so I concentrated on anything anti-Infanrty, like AC's.
Next thing I knew... The Shermans and Thunderbolts came in and wiped out the advance. 800+ troops killed, 100 vehicles, and I lost just over 500.
Lots of fun, and kept me busy for a whole weekend. Now, I need to figure out how to complete the other objectives....
