Wow, this is really tough now. I have just played a couple of single player games and gave up about 10-15 mins in (around where the mortar teams come in. I was completely overrun on my left flank. I need an extra mG to cover the north accessway to the church( as troops seem to charge down there en mass, but I needed the extra paratroopers to kill the trucks to get the rangers (which took me 3 atempts to take down - much tougher).

Also, withoit sandbags, there is no way to dig in, leaving your troops exposed down the central road.

yeah, we`re going to do something about the sandbags, but them back in for a small fee or something like that, for the script itself, I haven`t changed anything, exept to put the new units in. Might be due to patch changes to the units.

Henry (or anyone else) you have any tips for this map? Me and my buddy get overrun when the tanks and nebelwerfer come in, about 20 minutes left. The sandbags really help, now we can actually make some cover. But it's not enough :/.

Also, how are you supposed to destroy the mid-game convoy (not the first convoy)? Getting there is really tough, heh.

usually we blocked the right path of the map, so the enemy comes only from the front and the left side, 1 player focuses defending the center and the other the church area. you should be able to defend there until the convoy arrives, when its there you should have arti already i think, anyway some rifles and para squads must go to the road above the church usung satchels, stickies and if you have the offmap arti.

I Finally beat this map, solo. Was allot of fun, and I will definately be playing it more.

How I was able to survive... I placed bunkers near the church, primarly to defend the far MP, and kept engis in/or near them to repair. Then I used my jeep to help defend the other. Then I used a couple of MG's with flamer and inf support in buildings along the main drag (using enfilade), to slow the advance, with one bunker to draw fire, as I can repair that.

Then I just made infantry and pick up as many dropped weapons , and reinforce them as much as possible.

I found mortors to be key. So, I would try and get as many mortors as possible (In the case of my win, it was 2) and retreat them to the Alamo to cover the bridge and the one MP (because the other eventually falls).

At this point, my main drag had fallen and I have lost the far MP. So, I just defended the Bridge, using a healing station to regen my troops, while I built more infantry. I used smoke, on the bridge, a few times to cover my troops who wanted to grab a loose MG or AT weapons. Not sure that Neb helped much, but added arty never hurts, right? The Tiger and Jadg didn' give me many problems, since they are mainly AT, so I concentrated on anything anti-Infanrty, like AC's.

Next thing I knew... The Shermans and Thunderbolts came in and wiped out the advance. 800+ troops killed, 100 vehicles, and I lost just over 500.

Lots of fun, and kept me busy for a whole weekend. Now, I need to figure out how to complete the other objectives....

For people who don't know, build observation post on ammo point will increase 150% of current ammo rate. Do this ASAP.

For second convoy, don't think you can ambush them from starting position or near the end of their route, since the tiger will surely rape you. Hit them when they are in the middle. The bombing runs are extremely useful for later.

Remember to build healing building whenever you want to defend a point. Also MG nests if you have enough fuel and manpower.

Zombie factory whenever you can, the restore rifle squad will provide you with two BARs.

After taking out mortar, man them as you will need less manpower and have greater range than normal. Smoke barrage also come useful to protect reinforcing squads.

The bridge near the end is your final chance, use anything you can to cover it. Deploy garrison from nearby building will let you reinforce without retreat.

Sometimes, watch officer health or he may die when you're busy with fighting.

My hat is off to anyone who can win on this one. I've tried it several times and when i still have 10 minutes left, i get completely steam rolled by tanks, whirlbends, and even a King Tiger. And by that point my troops are all beat. And to add insult to injury, there's nothing like having the remnants of your brave force pummelled into oblivion by a Hummel.

Have had fun plotting tactics and trying to set up a good defense around the two strategic points... and though i was able to defend them rather well, i just get raped down the middle. Never was able to grab more than one morter and destroy a second one with a strafing run. Tried getting the officer but he's protected by an MG and a sniper. Any units i've sent to try to kill him just get annihilated.

Wish the paratroopers could actually reinforce in the field instead of having to run them back to the base. Nor is there ever enough MP to keep everyone reinforced... to say nothing for having 375 MP to drop a paratroop unit behind enemy lines. Just being able to dig a trench would be nice. You'd think that would be a bit realistic considering the mission.

I felt like i lasted fairly long, and defended all the objectives, but never received anything more than the Thunderbolt, an infantry unit and an extra sniper. How do you get the off map artillery? Do you have to destroy a platoon of Panthers with a slingshot?

This is not so difficult as it seems, first you should block the right path at the start with sandbacks or wire, so the attackers come only through the middle and past the church. Setup a forward barracks in a building in the middle, so you can reinforce there, build a triage center there too, best next to a building where you put an mg42 inside and maybe the sniper (they will get healed inside a building too).

Do the same at the church (forward barracks, triage next to it, mg42`s inside). Build a medic station in the center, so later you will have a constant flow of rifles. before the attack you can use the sniper to get to the building where later the officer goes, place a few dynamite charges behind the building, so later when the officer is inside you can blow it up.

You cant hold these positions the whole time, retreat to the bridge when you are going to get overwhelmed, before you should have won the king tiger mission (it will give you at-guns).

Setup a defense at the bridge then (same thing: triage center, medic station) and loads of at guns there then.

place Rangers, paratroopers with M18 recoilless, the lvl3 MG you have and Commando sniper to building at the crossroads... (the ones closer to church) most enemies get annihilated by it and it should hold until the Panzer Ace tries to locate you and a lot more... then make .30cal nest at church covering the direction they come from, place AT paras in the church... that's left flank manual... right flank, make that street death zone!
